WHAT IS TRAVEL FUNDING ?

Since 2016, Decathlon has embarked on the adventure of two-wheeled travels by developing bikes and luggage that meet the needs of the most demanding travellers.

Our goal is to bring the pleasures of bike travel to as many people as possible, to support and share projects that match our values and our vision of adventure: useful, environmentally friendly and inclusive.

We offer 3 grants worth 2000€ to support and share the most beautiful cycling adventure projects
Funding 1: Crossing borders
Funding 2: The family escape
Funding 3: Multi-sports adventure

HOW DO WE HELP YOU ?

Worth 2000€, the travel allocation will be for the winners of the contest, it includes :

- A material endowment (bike / luggage / textile...) adapted to the precise needs of the adventurers.

SELECTION CRITERIA

COMMITMENT/UTILITIES: the selected bicycle trip should have a social or environmental meaning.

NATURE RESPECT: the selected trip must have a limited impact on the environment. Trips incorporating air travel will not be accepted.

CONTENT PRODUCTION : The applicant will have to produce video content and/or make a video documentary that will be broadcasted on social networks and during the next edition of the Escape festival film within the framework of the obligations that will be set in the signed contract.

3 TOPICS will be proposed:
Going beyond its borders: a bicycle itinerant journey
Escape on a family trip: a trip that involves people from the same family
Multi-sports adventure: a trip that involves a bike and another sport (for example :  bike + kayak)

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

● The jury freely selects the candidates based on the criteria above. The jury will not have to justify their choice to the candidates.  



● All participants in the project must have been born before 01.05.2005



● The candidates must not have any family ties or common projects with Decathlon employees.



● The trip must take place independently, without an accompanying vehicle. The type of bike (unicycle, tricycle, recumbent bike...) with which the candidates will travel is not a discriminating element.



● The duration of the trip is free.


● The departure is planned after June 1, 2023 : after the awarding of the travel allocation at the bike travel festival, which will take place in Lille on May 24th, 2023. The physical or virtual presence of at least one of the laureates at the award ceremony is mandatory.

● All interactions (applications and subsequent exchanges) will be in French and/or English.



● The nationality of the participant is not a discriminating factor.

THE COMMITMENTS AND COUNTERPARTS OF THE SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS

If awarded the travel allocation, the winner agrees to:



● Be physically or virtually present at the awarding of the travel allocation during the bike travel festival.



● Undertake to use exclusively the equipment assigned by the Decathlon travel allocation.



● Carry out the projects or pursue the announced objectives as defined.



● Mention "Decathlon - Riverside" and have the associated logo appear on all media and productions related to the supported project. 



● Authorise Decathlon - Riverside to use the reports and other documents for communication purposes (website, magazine). 



● Return the amount of the grant and/or the equipment transferred by Decathlon - Riverside in case of cancellation of the project. 


● Be physically or virtually present at the revelation of their trip during the bike travel festival (round table, conference, etc.)



● Be physically or virtually present for the presentation to the Riverside - Decathlon team.



● Produce video content and/or make a video documentary to be shared on social media and at the next Escape festival film.



● Authorise Decathlon to freely exploit this content. 



● Not to distribute the final content publicly before the first diffusion by Decathlon. The applicant will then be free to exploit this content.

RULES OF THE CONTEST

Each application will be considered as an acceptance of the rules. We recommend that you read them in their entirety for more details.

WHO IS THE JURY ?

The jury will be composed of experienced travellers. The names of the jury members will be communicated prior to the launch of each grant. 
Jury members agree to report any family ties or common projects with a candidate. 
Jury members undertake, except in cases of emergency, to fulfil their role until the end of the process. In the event of a justified desertion, a new member will be designated by the jury. The jury has the right to ask candidates for additional information. 
The final results will not be debatable.
